Summary · full version at /terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of Pakstoor, a protected private-sale marketplace in South Africa, operated by Pakstoor (Pty) Ltd. The full, governing text is published at /terms; this summary highlights the points that matter at signup.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Pakstoor, you agree to be bound by the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the Protected Dispute Review & Return Rules, and all applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and a South African resident with a valid South African ID to use Pakstoor. Sellers complete payout setup before their first payout.
3. Listings and Sales
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of listings. Prohibited items include firearms, alcohol, tobacco, counterfeit goods, stolen property, live animals, and items that violate any South African law. Pakstoor reserves the right to remove any listing at its sole discretion.
4. Protected Transaction Review
Funds are held by Pakstoor's escrow partner during delivery and inspection. After courier-confirmed delivery, the buyer has the applicable inspection window shown on the deal to inspect the item and open a Protected Review if the item is damaged, missing, or materially not as described. If a Protected Review is opened within that window, release is paused while Pakstoor reviews the case. If no Protected Review is opened, Pakstoor may instruct the escrow partner to release the funds to the seller. Refunds, payouts, return-courier handling, and other outcomes are processed in accordance with applicable law and the rules of our escrow provider. See the full Protected Dispute Review & Return Rules.
5. Courier and Delivery
Items ship via The Courier Guy by default. Meeting in person is only allowed through Pakstoor's in-person handover, with payment held in TradeSafe escrow until both parties confirm; Pakstoor cannot protect the item itself (Terms Article 7A). Cash paid outside Pakstoor is not covered. For courier deliveries, the seller is responsible for drop-off; buyer is responsible for providing a correct delivery address or pickup point.
6. Fees
Selling is free: Pakstoor currently charges sellers no commission (0%); any commission is shown before listing. The buyer pays the Pakstoor Buyer Protection Fee, a percentage of the item price (never of the courier) that is refunded in full if the sale is cancelled or fully refunded, plus TradeSafe's fee for the payment method they choose and, on a courier deal, The Courier Guy's quote; each is shown before payment. The Pakstoor Buyer Protection Fee is not insurance and does not guarantee a refund or outcome. Listing is free; boosts are optional.
7. Account Suspension
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or receive repeated buyer complaints. Suspended users forfeit access to pending funds until resolution.
8. Limitation of Liability
Pakstoor is a platform, not a party to transactions. We facilitate payment and courier but do not warrant the condition, authenticity, or legality of listed items beyond our moderation efforts.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 14 days before taking effect.

Check that your email is spelled correctly and your password is at least 10 characters with a number or a symbol. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot?" link next to the password field.
How does Protected Transaction Review work?
When you pay, funds are held by Pakstoor's escrow partner while delivery and inspection happen. Read the full rules.
How do I sell an item?
Click "Sell an item" from any page. Photos, price, and a short description take about 5 minutes. When your item sells, the courier booking through The Courier Guy is arranged for you.
What can't I sell on Pakstoor?
Firearms, alcohol, tobacco, counterfeit goods, live animals, or anything that can't legally be shipped by a registered South African courier. Listings that break these rules are removed and repeat offenders lose their account.
Why do you need my ID?
Before a seller can withdraw, TradeSafe, our escrow partner, needs the seller's ID number and bank details to set up payouts. Buyers don't need to add these details. Pakstoor never asks for ID documents by ordinary email.
My item arrived damaged. What now?
Take photos immediately, including the parcel, waybill, packaging, and item damage. Do not accept the item if there is a serious issue. Open a Protected Review from the deal page before the applicable inspection window shown on the deal expires.
